Fall Scents
Hi again,
I love the smell of Fall, which comprises of pumpkin, apple pie, caramel, sweet potato, and other warm or sweet scents that makes you feel cozy all over. Bath and Body Works was having a sale with 50% off some of their products. Of course I had to pick up some of the wall scents and hand soaps that smell oh so yummy that reminds me of Fall and Thanksgiving. If you haven't smelled these already, you should pick up some of my current favorites! Or at least check them out at Bath and Body Works! They're limited time offer, but I'm sure some stores may still sell these.
Also, you should try, if you haven't already, the salted caramel mocha frap at Starbucks! To die for!! lol.

Caramel Sauce
Hi again,
Fall is about candied or caramel apples, apple pie, pumpkin pie, salted caramel mocha, sweet potato pie, and all the warm fall smelling yummy goodness. Recently I've made some caramel sauce to go with some of my desert goodies. I found a great recipe online and decided to take the plunge as the recipe didn't look that hard to make. Plus, I didn't feel like spending since I already had all of the ingredients in my kitchen. I already used it on a desert that I will blog about soon and intend to use it on other deserts this week and next.
If you want to try making your own caramel sauce, try this out. Remember, it may differ in cooking time, so please be patient. My first attempt was a fail, lol. The picture does not do it justice, it's not that dark.
Caramel Sauce Recipe
Ingredients:
1 cup of Granulated sugar
½ cup of Water
¾ cup of Heavy Cream, warmed slightly, either in a small saucepan or microwave
2 Tbsp of Unsalted butter at room temperature
¼ tsp of Salt
½ tsp of Vanilla Extract
½ cup of Water
¾ cup of Heavy Cream, warmed slightly, either in a small saucepan or microwave
2 Tbsp of Unsalted butter at room temperature
¼ tsp of Salt
½ tsp of Vanilla Extract
Direction:
1) In a large non stick sauce pan combine the sugar and water, cook over medium low heat until the sugar dissolves without stirring ever! Just swirl the pan around. Once the sugar has dissolved, turn the heat to medium high and let it bubble away until it turns a deep amber color, about 8 to 15 minutes. It depends on your stove.
2) Turn the heat down to low at this point and add the warm heavy cream slowly. Be careful because it will bubble vigorously. Keep whisking until everything is combined and turn the heat off.
3) Add the butter, salt and vanilla and whisk in until the butter melts. Set aside to cool completely.

Knitted Scarves: Purl and Stitch
Hi again,
Fall has just arrived bringing in colder weather and people wearing cool looking scarves adds a stylish touch and warmth to the everyday look. The beginning of this year 2011, I was determined to learn how to knit a scarf just for fun. It took me a few tries just to start the process of knitting and finally got the hang of it. I learned from watching many youtube channels and found one that worked for me. After knitting my first scarf, I started to get addicted to knitting more beautiful scarves in different colors and yarn types. I even made some as gifts to some family members. I only know two types of styles and hope to learn more, so that I can become a pro, hehe. If you are curious, I've been purchasing my yarn at Michaels because of their yarn sales in January and all the coupons I've been receiving from them since I have a Michael's loyalty member card.
If you know how to do the purl and stitch, then you're good to go. Please take a look at some of my knitted scarves I've done over the past few months. Happy knitting!
